FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Magnatech, and how does it work?

Magnatech is an innovative magnetic fuel-conditioning system designed to reduce fuel consumption and improve combustion efficiency. Our proprietary technology fits externally to existing fuel pipework, offering a simple, non-invasive way to improve energy performance without replacing existing equipment.

Which fuels and appliances can Magnatech be used with?

Magnatech is designed for suitable natural gas, LPG and oil-fired systems, including commercial boilers, industrial burners and domestic heating appliances. Compatibility is established through a simple site survey.

How is Magnatech installed, and will it disrupt operations?

Magnatech fits directly onto existing fuel pipework without cutting pipes or modifying the appliance. Installation is generally quick and straightforward, with minimal disruption to normal operations.

How much fuel could I save?

Potential savings depend on your equipment, fuel consumption and operating conditions. We assess each application individually to help establish realistic expectations and an appropriate way to measure results.

How are fuel savings measured and verified?

Savings are assessed against an agreed consumption baseline, accounting for relevant factors such as weather, operating hours or production output. Independent measurement and verification can be incorporated where appropriate.

What evidence and case studies are available?

We can provide case studies, performance assessments and supporting technical information from relevant applications. These help demonstrate how Magnatech has been evaluated in practice, recognising that results vary between installations.

How much does Magnatech cost, and what is the expected payback?

Magnatech is a one-off investment, with pricing based on your installation requirements. Following a site survey, we provide a quotation and, where sufficient data is available, an estimated payback based on potential fuel savings.

Does Magnatech require electricity or ongoing maintenance?

No. Magnatech operates without external electricity, contains no moving parts and requires no routine product maintenance once correctly installed.

Can I trial Magnatech before committing to a wider installation?

For suitable applications, we can discuss a trial with an agreed evaluation period and measurement approach, allowing performance to be assessed under your own operating conditions before considering a wider installation. Trial terms are agreed individually.

How do I find out if Magnatech is suitable for my site?

Complete our online site survey, selecting the Industrial or Commercial form, depending on your operation. We’ll review your equipment details, assess suitability and explain the next steps. The initial assessment can usually be completed remotely, with no obligation.

How the Magnatech System Works

The Magnatech System is an innovative British technology designed to improve the combustion performance of suitable commercial and industrial boilers and heating plant operating on natural gas, LPG or fuel oil. The system is installed externally to the fuel supply pipe close to the burner, requiring no modifications to the boiler or fuel system.

To understand how the Magnatech System works, it’s useful to consider the combustion process. For efficient combustion to occur, hydrocarbon fuel molecules must react with oxygen inside the burner. In practice, not every fuel molecule combusts completely, meaning some of the fuel’s available energy is not fully converted into useful heat.

Published experimental research has shown that appropriately configured magnetic fields can measurably influence combustion phenomena, including methane-air combustion — particularly through the interaction of magnetic-field gradients with the oxidiser at or near the point of combustion. The Magnatech System applies a proprietary engineered, non-homogeneous magnetic field in the fuel supply line immediately upstream of the burner, with the objective of influencing combustion conditions at the point of burning.

Where improved combustion performance reduces the fuel required to deliver the same useful output, operating costs and the associated CO2 emissions are reduced. Other combustion emissions, including NOx and CO, are dependent on the appliance, burner settings, fuel and operating conditions and can be assessed during combustion analysis.

Performance of the Magnatech System is assessed using site-specific consumption and combustion data. Where independent assessment or verification is undertaken, the resulting evidence is identified within the relevant case study or savings report.

For maximum effectiveness, the Magnatech System should be installed as close as possible to the burner inlet, ensuring the fuel passes through the magnetic field immediately before combustion.

The Magnatech System provides commercial and industrial operators with a simple route to lower fuel consumption and operating costs. By reducing the fuel required for the same useful output, associated CO2 emissions are reduced at the same time.
